The Community Mandala began in 1997. Five friends arrived with paint cans to the Roberts Creek Beach to paint over negative graffiti in the parking zone of the beach on the eve of Roberts Creek Daze. Two of the original Creek artists involved, Robert Marion and Erica Snowlake, continue to organize and support the growth of the project every year. Rob Marion designed the overall pattern of the Mandala at its inception, and is the template designer/visionary artist-with-the-roller-brush, each year. The Mandala is currently organized by a dedicated team of experienced volunteers, including Pamela Messner & family, and is a joyful expression of the Community of the Sunshine Coast's commitment to the Arts & Peace, Love and Unity.
