Hello Friends, Community, Family
The Sunshine Coast Earth Day Festival 2022 is right around the corner!!
This is our call out to non-profits, sustainable vendors, community organizations and all community members to participate. This would be the 33rd Consecutive year of celebrating Earth Day on the Sunshine Coast and we are excited to be able to come together once again! Congratulations coasters, we are doing a great job of celebrating sustainability, our community and the Earth.
This event will be ‘officially’ hosted by the Roberts Creek Community Association. Thank you to the RCCA board and community for all their hard work in maintaining the Roberts Creek Hall, Library and Gazebo and supporting Earth Day and Creek Daze.
Festival Date: Sunday April 24, 2022 Time: 12pm - 5pm Location: Roberts Creek Pier
Booth Costs: $25 non-profits, $35 vendors, and $50 food vendors
Zero waste: We strive to make this a zero-waste event, this means if your items have a plastic component that’s recycled or designed for multiple use, no problem. However, we are not allowing single use plastic for packaging and food vendors. Please do everything you can to ensure that you are considering your waste output at this event.
We will provide recycling and composting bins on the day of the event. If you have questions, feel free to ask us. Think as creatively as possible, first Refuse, then Reduce, then Reuse and last Recycle.
Food vendors will need to make everything meet Vancouver Coastal Health permits.
Vending: We encourage all vendors to participate if they feel their products are sustainable and support conscious consuming. We realize defining a product as sustainable is not clear cut, but please consider if what you are selling really fits in with the theme of Earth Day and stick to those products.
We encourage vendors to have an educational component to their booth! Teach people why your product is sustainable, what is the process behind the making of your product! If people learn about the positive impacts of their consumer choice, they are more likely to do it again!
We are always looking for volunteers! This can be to run workshops, sell raffle tickets, setup and take down the stage, run the volunteer food table, help with zero waste and more! Please point anyone in our direction if you feel they would be a good fit.
Note: A significant portion of the funding for Earth Day comes from our prize raffle we hold on the day of the event. In agreeing to participate in our event we ask that you do not conduct your own raffle, 50-50 draw, or any other prize draw requiring the selling of tickets. Thank you.
Please share this info far and wide.
Booths are booked on a first come first serve basis, email hallmanager@robertscreekcommunity.ca for application and to confirm your spot.
Warmest Regards,
